1. Acceptance of terms
By creating an account or using GovPrep (“the Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Description of service
GovPrep is an interview preparation platform for Australian public sector roles. We provide content including STAR responses, cover letters, talking points, and resume analysis. The Service is a preparation aid and does not guarantee employment outcomes.
3. Your account
- You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
- You must not share your account with others.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to bypass usage quotas or rate limits
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the Service
- Upload malicious content or attempt to compromise the platform
- Resell or redistribute generated content commercially
5. Generated content and your responsibility
Content generated by GovPrep is based on the documents and information you provide. It may contain errors, omissions, or statements that do not accurately reflect your experience. You are solely responsible for reviewing, verifying, and editing all generated content before use. Generated content is a starting point, not a final product.
You are solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of any application material you submit to an employer. Public sector recruitment processes carry integrity obligations, and you must ensure that anything you submit truthfully reflects your own experience. GovPrep does not provide career, recruitment, legal, or professional advice, and the Service is not a substitute for such advice.
You own the content you upload and the content we generate for you. You grant us a limited licence to store and process your content solely to provide the Service. We retain no other rights to your content.
6. Subscriptions and payment
- The Single Application pass is a one-time payment providing 30 days of access. The Monthly plan is billed monthly via Stripe until cancelled.
- You may cancel the Monthly plan at any time. Access continues until the end of your billing period.
- We may change pricing with 30 days notice. Price changes do not affect a billing period you have already paid for.
- Nothing in these terms limits your rights to a refund or other remedy under the Australian Consumer Law. For other refund requests, contact us at admin@govprep.com.au and we will consider them case by case.
7. Disclaimers
- The Service does not guarantee interview success, shortlisting, or employment outcomes. Recruitment decisions are made by employers, not by us.
- The Service depends on third-party providers (including hosting, payment, and content generation services). We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.
- We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features of the Service. If we discontinue the Service entirely, we will give paying users reasonable notice.
8. Australian Consumer Law and limitation of liability
Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer guarantee, right, or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability for a failure to comply with a consumer guarantee is limited, at our option, to supplying the services again or refunding the amount you paid for them.
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service, including loss of employment opportunities or decisions made by you or an employer based on generated content. Our total aggregate liability under these terms is otherwise limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
9. Indemnity
To the extent permitted by law, you indemnify us against loss or liability we incur arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Service, or content you upload that infringes the rights of a third party, except to the extent the loss is caused by our own breach or negligence.
10. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms. You may delete your account at any time via Settings, which permanently removes all your data.
11. Changes to terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email before they take effect. If you do not agree to the updated terms, you may cancel your subscription and stop using the Service. Continued use after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of New South Wales, Australia.
