1. Who we are
GovPrep (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the govprep.com.au platform. We are committed to protecting the privacy of our users in accordance with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
2. Information we collect
We collect the following personal information when you use GovPrep:
- Account information: email address, full name, and password (managed by Supabase Auth).
- Career information: resumes, career summaries, job application documents, and selection criteria you upload or enter.
- Generated content: STAR responses, cover letters, talking points, and resume analyses we generate on your behalf.
- Payment information: billing details processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
- Usage data: feature usage counts for quota tracking.
3. How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Provide and improve the GovPrep service
- Generate tailored interview preparation content
- Process payments and manage subscriptions
- Communicate with you about your account
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. AI processing
Your documents and career information are sent to third-party AI services (Anthropic Claude API, Google Gemini API) to generate content. These services process your data according to their own privacy policies. We send only the minimum information necessary for each generation task.
5. Data storage and security
Your data is stored in Supabase (hosted on AWS in the Sydney region). We implement row-level security policies to ensure you can only access your own data. Files are stored in Supabase Storage with user-scoped access policies.
6. Your rights
Under the Australian Privacy Act, you have the right to:
- Access: request a copy of all personal information we hold about you.
- Correction: request correction of inaccurate information.
- Deletion: delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings.
- Data portability: download a copy of all your data as JSON via Settings.
7. Cookies
We use essential cookies for authentication (Supabase session). We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via the email associated with your account.
